BRONZE MEDALLION
The course is recommended for SLS members who wish to:
- perform in the role of a qualified lifesaver after the age of 15 years
- participate in SLS surf sports competitions which require them to be proficient in the Bronze Medallion as a prerequisite condition
- progress through the SLS Aquatic Rescue or Powercraft award pathway

SURF RESCUE CERTIFICATION (SRC)
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge of basic patrolling and surf awareness in order to be able to participate in lifesaving operations.
The SRC course is recommended for surf life saving (SLS) members who wish to perform the role of SLS water safety personnel (the SRC is the minimum water safety qualification for junior activity supervision) and/or take on a lifesaving cadetship and join a life saving patrol.
This course is usually run in conjunction with the Bronze Medallion course. Specific schedules will be issued to enrolled candidates for each course by the lead trainer.

INFLATABLE RESCUE BOAT (IRB) Crew
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively crew an Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) in surf rescue operations. In this course you will learn the roles and responsibilities of an Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) Crewperson. This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively crew and maintain an IRB in surf rescue operations.

APRIL
INFLATABLE RESCUE BOAT (IRB) DRIVER
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively drive and manage an Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) in surf rescue operations.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded with the SLSA Silver Medallion IRB Driver. You will also receive the following nationally recognised qualification and units of competency issued through Surf Life Saving Queensland (RTO 2804):
- PUAEQU001 Prepare, maintain and test response equipment
- PUASAR014 Operate and maintain a small powercraft and motor for rescue operations
These units are also part of the nationally recognised qualification PUA31312 Certificate III in Public Safety (Aquatic Search and Rescue)
