Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC)
The SRC provides participants with basic skills and knowledge of first aid, rescues, and CPR.
This is the perfect pathway from Junior Activities to patrolling ranks or for parents/guardians who wish to assist with water safety during nipper programs, sports carnivals or training.
Bronze Medallion
The Bronze Medallion is considered the pinnacle of Surf Life Saving patrolling awards.
As a Bronze Medallion holder, you will have the required skills and knowledge relating to surf awareness, rescue techniques, radio communication, CPR and first aid.
Provide First Aid (PFA)
The First Aid award provides participants with the skills and knowledge to provide initial care and treatment to a sick or injured person.
As a First Aid award-holder, you are able to patrol in a patrol team to provide first aid to the public, but are not required to enter the water for rescues.
Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (ART)
Trained in advanced resuscitation techniques, you will further your skills and knowledge from the Resuscitation Certificate and learn how to utilise airway management equipment in emergency situations.
IRB Crewie (IRBC)
The inflatable rescue boat (IRB) is a vital piece of surf life saving equipment, requiring two people to operate.
As the crew member, you will be responsible for conducting rescues and assisting the driver in IRB operations under their guidance.
IRB Driver (IRBD)
As an IRB driver, you are responsible for safely and efficiently negotiating the surf while driving the IRB and communicating effectively with the crew member to ensure the safe operation of the craft, the safety of your crew and patient/s.
